Our team works diligently to keep our carbon footprint to a minimum. We utilize locally sourced urban salvaged slabs, retired orchard, and the drought induced, beetle kill, and other forest salvage trees, reducing our overall carbon footprint by reducing greenhouse gasses. The use of these beautiful woods is an environmental benefit as the carbon is stored and not emitted into the atmosphere.

Unlike other epoxy resins on the market, our resin uses bio content without the use of toxic organic compounds or heavy metals, making it safe for incidental food contact. The resin we use is made from annually renewable resources and is an alternative to traditional epoxy resins made from fossil fuels. When you order a wood creation from us that is made with epoxy resin, you can be sure that it was made with the safest and most environmentally friendly materials and processes.

Our sealing and finishing products also hold a GREENGUARD Certification. GREENGUARD Certification Standards are among the most rigorous in the world, so you can be confident that these products live up to their claims. If a product has been GREENGUARD Certified, it has been tested and scientifically proven to have

low chemical emissions. With a GREENGUARD Certification you

are creating a healthier indoor environment for your home,

office or institution and reducing chemical exposure.

 

Project waste is entirely recycled here at

Alexander Butcher Block. A majority of

our cut-offs from projects are re-sourced

to local craftsmen and utilized to create

cutting boards and other small wood

projects. Any cut-offs left over that

are not re-sourced, along with any

scrap wood and dust collection

is sent to a local processor

and recycled into mulch.
